RuPaul's Drag Race season 6 winner Bianca Del Rio - real name Roy Haylock - is no stranger to Brighton; having previously toured the UK a number of times, always playing a date in the city.
Bianca made her entrance to a minimalist set; a lemon iridescent sequinned pantsuit (that as a former seamstress - for Broadway no less - she had designed and made herself)
She kicked off by referencing the Covid-19 pandemic -"everything's fucked up! - and she was clearly happy to see our smiling and attentive faces.
Bianca wanted to know who in the audience had money during the pandemic, so she turned her attention to the front row and took a shine to a punter's grandmother, referring to her as 'Nan' (this lady was 72 and had been married for 54 years).
Bianca called 'Nan' "my kind of bitch!" Nan would become an unsuspecting star of the evening as Del Rio frequently referred back to her during various points of the show - including following a chat with a website developer, which led to some hilarious banter involving a website that's been under investigation by the media and a quick fire response from Del Rio.
Bianca told someone else in the audience that if they had a sob story they could have won drag race - referring to recently completed season fourteen winner Willow Pill, who has the condition cystinosis.
Speaking of Drag Race - Del Rio verbally assaulted many notable alumni from the multi-award winning US franchise including; Trixie Mattel, Shangela, BenDeLaCreme, Valentina, Nina West, Eureka, Jan, Nicky Doll, Latrice Royale and even took a verbal swipe at Michelle Visage and Rupaul herself, much to the audience's delight.
She also said that she thinks the hit show needs to stop - 'you've got drag race everywhere' - and even joked that RuPaul had asked her to host Drag Race North Korea (you'll love the punchline to this one!).
As has become a bit of a tradition for Bianca; the show ended with a Q&A from the people who bought VIP tickets: "I don't talk to the cheap seats."
In typical Bianca fashion the show was hilarious and ridiculously filthy, so if you're looking for a night of clean comedy then this isn't the show for you.
Bianca's humour is unsanitized… and that's just the way we like it!
