Originally scheduled to take place during the 2020 Brighton Festival, Do You Come Here Often is an open call exhibition collecting stories of nights out in Brighton that have in some way shaped the people who lived them.
Designed to explore the range of experiences that can be had in the city after dark, you are invited to share the tales, fails, wisdom from strangers and messages from the heart scrawled on the back of the toilet door that have stayed with you.
In the words of Seymour Bird: "this is our love letter to the independent entertainment venues of Brighton, something that feels even more poignant since we have been unable to visit them for so long!"
Do You Come Here Often opens on Saturday 5th June and runs until Saturday 20th June.
In July Alexander Johnson brings GUERNICA/GERNIKA to 35 North.
"The paintings are a series I made after a visit to the Basque town, which was bombed by fascist forces in 1937.
"I have worked from photographs taken after the bombing and combined these with images that I sketched of the rebuilt town on my visit in 2019.
"The town is now thriving in spite of the devastation and subsequent suppression it endured for forty years under General Franco" explains Alex.
The exhibition will be held from 1 - 24 July.
35 North is still finalising the details of our August/September shows (more details to follow shortly) but they can offer a sneak preview of something very exciting they have coming up in October.
Born Makers is a Brighton based furniture making workshop, specialising in one off and small batch production pieces.
