Following a fruitful first collaboration in February featuring gold medallist Sally Gunnell OBE, the next event follows suit with keynote speaker Leon Taylor taking centre stage, offering his insight into nurturing talent and potential in the pursuit of success and longevity, helpful skills that are easily transferable into the workplace.
Leon will speak from his breadth of knowledge and experience both as an Olympian, and as a high-performance mentor with a passion for long-term mental wellness, including supporting Tom Daley in his inspirational achievement of four Olympic medals.
The event, taking place at the
i360 in Brighton, is an opportunity to hear Leon's experiences of high-performance environments, discussing how this parallels with
effective and
supportive leadership in the workplace.
Along with Leon, there will also be a panel event with experts including Alison Daymond from Adastra HR, and James Shillaker and Emma Vivo from Epassi talking about different facets of wellbeing in the workplace from HR, law, staff engagement, neurodiversity, emotional wellbeing, psychology and CSR.
Event attendees will be able to ask the expert in a Q&A format where you can raise your own discussion points, along with taking part in a Tapping into Wellbeing group activity led by Nicola Harvey, an Advanced EFT (Tapping) Practitioner & Trainer from Harvey Heals.
This event is for anyone with an interest in, or responsibility for the wellbeing of their staff team and everything raised from the event will go towards funding Rockinghorse's new children's Wellbeing Service at the Royal Alexandra Children's Hospital.
Rockinghorse Children's Charity CEO Donna Holland said:
"At Rockinghorse we know the vital role that wellbeing plays in the care of so many children spending time in hospital. It helps them learn about, understand and manage incredibly difficult and complex conditions.
"Having children who are better supported to manage their wellbeing helps them get better faster, helps parents cope with the difficulties their families are facing and enables staff to care for children more effectively.
"And this is no different to how we manage wellbeing in the workplace. People responsible for the wellbeing of their staff and their team can really impact on the success of their businesses by offering the right support in the right way.
"Mental Health UK's Burnout Report 2024 found that 91% of people experienced high or extreme levels of pressure or stress in the past year, leading to 20% needing to take time off work in that period.
"This shows how important wellbeing is for managers to help support staff and reduce the amount of time lost to stress.
"Our second Wellbeing in the Workplace event aims to bring together a range of experts to share their insights and experience and offer practical tips for all aspects of Wellbeing in the Workplace."
