Towner Eastbourne Seek Donations As They Support Those Suffering Greatest Hardship & Isolation This Winter

During second lockdown, Towner Eastbourne are designing and distributing a new series of activity packs that will make life a little better for the most vulnerable families in Eastbourne and Seaford.

Each activity pack will include four editions with different activities that encourage people to step outside and find natural materials to create and make.

Esther Collins, Head of Learning and Engagement, explains a bit more in this short film.

Working with Shinewater Primary School, Willingdon Trees Community Centre in Hampden Park, and Waves in Seaford, families and households will receive the packs that aim to inspire imagination and creativity and develop design and making skills.

The project is the next phase in directly supporting the health and wellbeing of the local community.

It follows the last lockdown project, where Towner Eastbourne distributed over 1000 free packs to vulnerable households.

Jill Murphy, Waves Family Worker (Seaford), said:

"Families whose children would normally receive free school meals received Towner's activity packs in their food parcels which meant 54 children had help with their homeschooling.

"A further 49 children received the packs via The Cabin"s art and youth clubs.

"I am passing on everyone's appreciation and thanks, they brought a smile in these difficult times"
