It will present a series of panels and discussions aimed at initiating genuine action to help mitigate the climate crisis, with a firm emphasis on switching to plant-based food systems as a matter of urgency
Fresh from their recent successes in persuading Local Councils including Norwich, Haywards Heath, Edinburgh, Oxford & Exeter to endorse the Treaty, the Plant Based Treaty is working hard to make fresh gains on local government, institutions like the Prison Service and the NHS and corporations to endorse the Plant Based Treaty and hasten the switch to plant based food systems across the board.
The day long series of 6 panels focuses on a number of areas including asking if should we introduce a meat tax, as well as a discussion on community campaigning and individual action.
The role of Media on reporting on animal agriculture is closely examined, as well as how we can restore our countryside and urban areas with a focus on environmental restoration, reforestation and ecosystem recovery..
The question as to why we need a Plant Based Treaty is examined in some detail, as is the current 'Cities' Campaign (that includes Los Angeles in the USA as a recent endorser) and how this can be such an asset in a transition to plant based systems.
Hosted by Robbie Lockie from Plant Based News, the panels see a host of experts and guests participating, including Keith Lesser from Vegan Accountants, Rebecca Ahimsa- Rae from Garden Guardians, Kerri Waters from Viva! Farming, Piers Warren from Vegan Organic Network, Green Party Councillor Dr Ricard Nicholson, Deanna Nicholson (Green Party Candidate) and Klaus Mitchell (Plant Based News), plus various Plant Based Treaty spokespersons including James O'Toole, Nicola Harris and Josephine Robinson.
