Brighton Homelessness Charity Celebrate Their Work With A Summer Fair Packed With Music & Fashion

On Saturday, June 29th, Sussex Emmaus will host a Summer Fair on its grounds just outside of Brighton. This annual event, held by the homelessness charity located in Portslade Village, Brighton, celebrates the organisation's work throughout the year.

The fair running from 10am – 4.30pm is free to attend, and visitors can expect to enjoy a range of music from local talents, including folk duo The Claras, Alfonso the Magnificent, Andy Melrose and the Cascade Recovery Choir.

In addition, visitors can attend a not-to-be missed fashion show in the chapel.

Attendees can also enjoy a range of stalls selling everything from cakes to plants, children's clothes, and experiences including the mysterious caravan of curiosities, and pranic healing.

There will also be talks throughout the day, and tours of the historic site.

Since 1997 Sussex Emmaus has offered people who have experienced homelessness a home for as long as they need it, as well as meaningful work in its social enterprises.

The opportunity to become part of a community and contribute to it plays an important role in restoring self-esteem and helping people to find a way to overcome homelessness in the long term.

Joel Lewis, Business Manager at Sussex Emmaus, said:

"The summer fair is a key event in the calendar at Sussex Emmaus, and one which we know a lot of people look forward to.

"We can't wait to welcome lots of visitors for the day, who can enjoy shopping in our much-loved charity superstore where they can pick up quality second-hand and vintage goods, as well as the range of stalls and activities taking place throughout the day."
