The Christians Will Serve Up Their Socially Conscious Lyrics Laced With Soulful Bluesy Melodies In Brighton Next Summer

The Christians - one of the defining band of the 1980s, known for creating songs with socially conscious lyrics married with soulful bluesy melodies - will be delving into their superlative back catalogue for a date at St George's Church, in Brighton.

It's been more than thirty-five years since the band gave us their eponymous album that delivered a slew of chart-topping hits and still remains Island Records highest selling debut album.

Forgotten Town, Hooverville, When The Fingers Point, Ideal World and Born Again were all hits from their first album that will be revisited on the new headline tour.

Made up of some of Liverpool's finest musicians, The Christians - who opened for some of the biggest artists of the time including James Brown and Fleetwood Mac -  are still fronted by the enigmatic Garry Christian and are enjoying a resurgence on the live circuit:

"We're over the moon to be getting back out on the road again, we've been having a great time performing together and can't wait to bring the full headline show and all the hits out to fans across the country next summer."

Accompanied by a tight band, the shows are set to be packed with beautiful harmonies, heartfelt songs and a memorable performance from one of the best loved and highest selling bands of their era.

A recent review of a show this year said:

"Go and see them if you get the chance - they're as soulful, as bluesy, as funky as they ever were, and perhaps even funnier.." - The Broken Spine
