Eighteen-Piece Afro-Cuban Jazz Ensemble New Regency Orchestra Release New Music Prior To Date @ Brighton Dome

Fusing the dynamic collision of jazz and Latin music that emanated from New York in the 1950s with the experimental sounds of contemporary London, New Regency Orchestra is fast becoming a must-see band on the touring circuit.

Ahead of their show at Brighton Dome, next March, the eighteen-piece Afro-Cuban jazz outfit is releasing a brand-new track Mambo Herd – their reinterpretation of the Tito Puente & Woody Herman's tune of the same name.

The track comes as a taster from the New Regency Orchestra's forthcoming debut album.

Putting a fresh spin on the golden era of big bands and the music of legends such as Tito Puente, Dizzy Gillespie, David Arman, Chico O'Farrill and René Henandez, New Regency Orchestra have torn up the big band music rulebook and present high-impact, dancefloor-inspired arrangements of timeless classics that put Latin jazz through a twenty-first century London filter.

"Having listened to the dusty original recordings of these tune for so long, hearing them come to life again feels nothing short of a miracle.

"What a blessing to be working with such a great set of musicians..

"Can't wait to take some of these tunes on tour!"  - Lex Blondin, New Regency Orchestra
