Frank is often referred to as one of the hardest working musicians in the U.K. with nearly 2.5k shows under his belt before the Covid-19 pandemic struck.
He has become a bit of a folk-punk hero over the years - working his way up from crashing on people"s floors after a show to headlining the likes of Wembley and the O2.
Back in the autumn of 2020 Frank posted on Twitter:
"I'm actually having to move house, but making the most of it, heading to the coast and planning to set up a proper recording studio, to work on producing my own stuff and other people's."
With the above achieved, one of the first bands to
book studio time at Frank's, is Brighton-based rock band,
Creature Creature.
Creature Creature - Video Nasty
The five-piece are no strangers to big stages and tie-ins with the good and the great, having performed at the likes of Hastings Fat Tuesday Festival and Devon's Beautiful Days (founded by, and managed by fellow Brighton-based band The Levellers) where they shared the bill with the likes of Manic Street Preachers and The Hives.
Creature Creatures'
critically-acclaimed debut album
Two Finger Tantrum was produced by
Tommy Gleeson (Feeder, Slaves to Gravity).
Creature Creature frontman Scully says:
"Working with Frank Turner on our next release is really the most inspirational and logical step for the band, and an ambition of mine that I've been working towards conquering since Creature Creature's inception.
Frank Turner - New Album Coming Soon
"I first listened and became a casual fan way back with the single, 'The Road'. At the time, I hadn't heard a song on the radio for a long while that actually made me stop what I was doing and take notice.
"It summarised the life of a wanderer that I dreamed one day I would follow in the footsteps of. Frank slipped off my radar after that until a friend invited me to one of his shows.
"After I saw him live for the first time, I connected much more heavily with his music and attitude.
"The feeling of togetherness of his shows and the descriptive style of his writing made a huge impact on me and made me delve much deeper into his work.
Creature Creature - the Early Days
"Such was the impact of Frank that he was a large part of the reason Creature Creature was formed in the first place.
"The sense of community in folk-punk did, and still does, really resonate with me and I channeled that when forming the band.
"Of course, bands evolve and we have come a long way since those early days, finding our own, unique path but the foundations of where we came from will always remain."
Creature Creature will hit the studio with Frank Turner in November 2021 to record an E.P. and will take to the road to embark on a U.K. tour in April 2022.
