Brighton's Creature Creature Unleash News Of The Opening Of A New Photography & Music Studio In Sussex

With the country on course to a 'cautious but irreversible' end to lockdown, it's heartening to hear of one entrepreneur bringing his cultural vision to Sussex. But it's a vision for all, so if you are looking to experience an exciting new addition to the local nightlife, then let Scully - frontman of Brighton's top rock outfit, Creature Creature - guide you through this unique and ever-so-exclusive new venture  ..

Brand new professional studio combines music and photography for an exclusive experience unlike any other, and you can be at the opening night ..

It's been a tough year for everyone since the pandemic hit. We've all been affected one way or another, be that financially, health-wise or our general way of life.

There's been a lot of emphasis on negativity because we've been surrounded by it, but if you look hard enough, you can still find hope amongst the wreckage.

One such instance is the opening of a new photography and music studio in Newhaven.

The town has had its fair share of flack over the years but businesses are beginning to realise its potential and Vaded Lab is perfect evidence of that.

The brainchild of London DJ-turned-entrepreneur, Pabz, it's just what the area is missing - a welcoming studio space that can not only accommodate photography sessions of the highest calibre, but will also host exclusive VIP events complete with bar and DJ after parties.

Being local to Newhaven and frontman of Brighton-based rock band, Creature Creature, it was just the kind of space I was looking for to re-launch the band on the live scene.

We were firing on all cylinders when the pandemic hit, gearing up for the release of 'Two Finger Tantrum', our debut album (produced by Tommy Gleeson from multi-platinum selling band, Feeder), and planning summer tours.

The album was released but tours postponed, and now, after 17 months with no shows, we're desperate to play and wanted to put on something extra special for our fans.

I was introduced to Pabz by a mutual friend and once I visited Vaded Lab with my guitarist, Zeus, we knew we had found the perfect place to host an event.

All too often in the world of photography and music, you're met with a sense of pretentiousness when networking and meeting new people. Not at Vaded Lab.

Pabz gives off a reassuring sense of ease with his laid-back swagger and infectious laugh.

With a history in music dating back to touring as engineer and drum technician in the late eighties for reggae legends, Third World, he's a man of wisdom and vast experience.

Since his days of hauling equipment across from continent to continent, he's tried his hand at everything from teaching in schools to DJing at some of London"s most legendary club nights.

"Inspiration comes from the most unexpected places", Pabz tells me after explaining that the colour scheme of orange and green came after decorating his friend's kitchen.

"How it all came together was purely from a vision."

The idea for the studio just came to him one day and was a great way to pour the passions he has in life into something unique.

The benefits of the studio are clear  - people can expect a VIP experience unlike any other.

There's a range of packages available for anyone wanting a professional photoshoot with the high end including hair and make up, a top class DJ spinning your favourite songs and a full cocktail service with their resident mixologist.

For artists such as myself, it is perfect to put on a more intimate and special night.

The post-pandemic live scene will be an era where artists need to go above and beyond more than ever before.

The live scene needs to be revived and Vaded Lab could be just the kind of place to breathe new life into it.

Having renovated and decorated the entire place himself, Pabz was quick to bring up that he's looking to not only incorporate DJs there, but also to work with a band for certain events.

We discussed the potential of the Creature Creature live re-launch at Vaded and the official opening night was born.

With a state-of-the-art DJ decks set up, live streaming capabilities and first-class lounge area, it is the perfect venue and we're welcoming fans to be on the guestlist of our show, including drinks and an after-party, for free!

The studio is in no way artist exclusive though. Combining photoshoots with a musical backdrop is a unique idea and one that can really relax the atmosphere for people new to being in front of the camera.

"Photoshoots can usually be a nervous situation," Pabz explains.

"People get nervous because they don't know what to do so when you give them a vibe where they can just come and relax, they will enjoy the experience a lot more."

With this understanding attitude, the future looks prosperous for the man and his dream.

"You're creating the art of yourself and capturing a moment. If you're having pictures taken, you need a studio where you feel comfortable and in the mood to do what you want to do.

"It's a moment of you," Pabz declares, clearly fully in tune to the 'stage fright' or awkwardness many can suffer on a shoot.

All in all, Vaded Lab looks set to really make a mark in the area, and maybe, Pabz' unique vision for photoshoots and events may just change the sector for the better.

It's time to get Vaded.
