Great Get Together: Local Charity Hosts Community Picnic In Brighton For Jo Cox

As part of a nationwide series of events in honour of Jo Cox MP, local charity Brighton & Hove Impetus is organising a community picnic in Palmeira Square, Hove, on Saturday 17th June from 12-2pm.

Inspired by Jo Cox's heartfelt belief that "we have far more in common than that which divides us", The Great Get Together is designed to unite people in their neighbourhoods over a weekend filled with thousands of community-led events.

Brighton & Hove Impetus is a local charity that helps people who feel lonely or socially isolated because of age, disability or poor mental or physical health,

"We feel that The Great Get Together is a wonderful concept and a perfect way to bring people together", says Jo Ivens, CEO of Impetus.

"With the great support we've been getting from our friends in the Palmeria Square area, businesses, residents and other charities, we're really looking forward to bringing local people and visitors together at our community picnic."
