American Rumble Wrestling Spectacular Is Back In Brighton For Top Grappling Action

Grappling fans are getting ready to rumble again when wrestling returns to the Brighton Centre on March 14.

And among the big names fighting for the King of the Ring title on the Sunday afternoon spectacular will be James Mason, one of Britain"s top stars, who made his last Brighton appearance 14 years ago.

Mason has wrestled in Japan and appeared for American giants WWE and TNA, as well as holding a version of the British heavyweight title, since he last appeared in Brighton in 1996.

Now established as one of the finest wrestlers of his generation, Mason, who made his professional debut at the age of 14, is heading for a Brighton Centre showdown with a host of other top stars of the grappling game.

They include the barnstorming 20st giant super-heavyweight contender Kris Kay, "Hit Man" Jon Ryan, Ireland's Eamonn O"Neill and Joel Redman, who has emulated Mason by winning the award of Young Wrestler of the Year more than once.

The line-up will also include a trio of local stars, Brighton's PWF welterweight title-holder Barry Cooper, the South Coast Adonis James Tighe, from Littlehampton, and Danny Driscoll, from Hastings, who will be making his Brighton debut.

The all-in American Rumble, in which the wrestlers can only be eliminated by being thrown out of the ring over the top rope, and the last man left standing is the winner, will be the highlight of the show, which also includes tag team and solo bouts.

The action starts at 3.0, and tickets are available from the box office, telephone 0844 847 1515, or on line via www.brightoncentre.co.uk
