He plans to perform until his 80s at least, pointing out that there is no pension plan for Bluesmen, and that the whole live-fast-die-young game is for kids who can't handle their booze.
An unrecognised genius somewhere between Beck, Muddy Waters and Tom Waits, he's been sampled by Rizzlekicks and been hired to play Grace Jones' private party.
He recently returned with Music For Cop Shows, an album loaded with instrumental hooks, original blues flavoured songs, irresistible grooves and sly madness.

"I fantasise 'bout making the theme song to a 1970's cop show. Time travel is hard on this old Bluesman's bowels however.

"The truth is bloody awful enough, I hope you find this blues a bit sexier than rising crime rates and sponsored terrorism!"
Recorded in London at Space Eko East Studios with long-time co-producer Alex McGowan the songs build upon Son of Dave"s usual beatbox and bass grooves layering up harmonica riffs just like in the live show.
Some tunes go a bit further and he plays keys, guitars, and all sorts of percussion.
It's all played and sung by the man himself, with Blues Organ and Hey Aye the only exceptions, being recorded with producer Jimmy Hogarth, with whom he made the album Blues At The Grand a few years back.
